SI-CARE : Working Group on Scientific Instruments Conservation and Restoration
Dear colleagues,
Following the growing interest in our SIC Symposium sessions on the conservation of scientific instruments over the past three years, and particularly at the 2026 Symposium in Neuchâtel, we would like to explore launching an international Working Group on the Conservation, Restoration and Preventive Conservation of Historical Scientific Instruments and Collections.
The aim is to bring colleagues together to share experiences, expertise, and challenges, and to develop a collaborative initiative starting with the Rete community, with a view to the 2027 SIC Symposium.
At this initial stage, we are simply collecting expressions of interest. No commitment or specific role is required. If you are interested in contributing, or would like to share ideas or experiences, please send your expression of interest by 1st December 2026 to Maria Rosalia Carotenuto (mariarosalia.carotenuto@gmail.com).
